Jeff graduated in 1981 from Bob Jones University with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry. He worked as a Research Scientist at Albany Medical College in the Pathology department for two years and then began his career in healthcare as a Nephrology Tech for ten years. He was the President of the National Association of Nephrology Technologists (NANT) and in 1991 was a awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by NANT for his groundbreaking work on Bicarbonate buffering dialysates and his contribution the National Dialysis Outcome Quality Initiative (DOQI) Guidelines. Jeff transitioned from his clinical role in 1993 and launched his commercial career when he sold his businesses to Fresenius where he obtained certification in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University and quickly rose through the management ranks of Fresenius becoming the Director of Drug Manufacturing for Fresenius Medical Care Canada in 2002. He returned to his research and development focus in 2007 when he became a Principle Scientist for NxStage Medical. In 2014, he left NxStage to become the President & CEO of Pisa Biopharm and grew contract manufactures to over $50M of medical device products in the US market. He remains at Pisa today and has expanded his role to lead four additional Pisa Companies: CAB Enterprises, JCSA Holdings, Centerpiece, and last but not least, Hometa.
Vice President & COO
COO Bob Thompson joined the PiSA team in October 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena College. Bob brings over 25 years of results oriented financial execution with a privately-owned company that owned, managed and operated up to six (6) diverse ISO 9001 and Lean Six Sigma entities with facilities in France and US. Customers included M&M Mars, Johnson & Johnson, Roche, Bayer, Abbott, Novartis, LabCorp of America and Quest Diagnostic. His experience is in providing a strong operational partnership that supports business development through financial modeling and planning efforts to accomplish our strategic growth objectives. Bob assists CEO Jeff Hover in his leadership of the four additional PiSA Companies, CAB Enterprise, JCSA Holdings, Centerpiece and Hometa.
CFO Jennifer Mickle brings more than 25 years of Financial Management experience to Hometa. She holds a Bachelors in business and economics from Oswego as well as an MBA with concentrations in Finance & IT from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She has served as CPA for companies accross industries including manufacturing, retail, pari-mutual wagering, and real estate. Since joining the company in November of 2018, Jennifer has bolstered the financial infrastructure at Hometa and, most recently, implemented a new ERP system for FDA compliance.
Jennifer resides in Chatham, New York with her husband Mike and their two children, Evan and Lexi. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, biking, and watching her daughter compete in equestrian competitions.
Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
Raza holds a Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the prestigious Sultan Ul Uloom College of Pharmacy, as well as a Masters in Biotechnology with a Concentration on Regulatory Affairs from Johns Hopkins University. He holds two certifications from ASQ; Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Pharmaceutical GMP Professional, as well as a License to Practice Pharmacy from the Pharmacy Council of India. He is a member of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society and boasts more than ten years of regulatory and quality experience in the biotechnology industry. Raza began with the company in October of 2016 as Regulatory Affairs Manager, and in October of 2017 assumed his current role, as Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs.
Vice President of Commercial Operations
Eric brings more than 18 years of sales and marketing experience to Hometa. He has spent his entire career in the life science industry, both in manufacturing and distribution capacities. Having worked many years for notable companies like Patterson Veterinary and Bayer HealthCare, Eric has worked in executive-level roles both in human and animal health. Although he has served in every role from outside sales rep to executive leadership, the bulk of his experience lies in building and leading high-performing sales teams aligned with company goals and objectives.
Eric lives in the Capital Region with his two children, Ethan and Claire. In his spare time he enjoys taking in his children’s sporting events and playing golf.
Director of Marketing
Marketing Director Patrick Sofarelli brings 25 years of biomedical product management experience to Hometa. Patrick holds Bachelors degrees in Chemistry and Finance as well as a bilingual MBA in Marketing. He has held various sales and marketing roles at notable companies like Pfizer, Becton Dickinson, and B Braun. For the past 20 years, he has served the biomedical device industry in various executive-level roles, including Sr. Global Product Manager at Smiths Medical and Sr. Product Manager, Advanced Neurology at Quest Diagnostics. Since joining Hometa in November of 2019, Patrick has not only bolstered the management of Hometa’s product portfolio, but led the way in market prediction and product development at Hometa.
Patrick resides in Saratoga Springs and in his spare time, enjoys hiking and boating in the Adirondacks with his son Lorenzo.
